The PCOM Alumni Association recently welcomed newly elected board members and executive officers, including new President Shanda Lucas O’Dennis, MS/ODL ‘09, at its spring board meeting on June 6. Ms. O’Dennis is the first black woman and first non-DO alum to ascend to president of the PCOM Alumni Association.
Six alumni were elected to fill vacant positions representing the College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Health Professions and Sciences, and School of Pharmacy. New board members include Kelly Abbrescia, DO ’94, Ifeanyi M. Olele, DO/MBA ’13, Bie Etinge, DO ’11, Nam Duong, PA-C ’06, Jennifer Alvarado, MS/FM ’08, and Rikki Patel, PharmD ’15. Elections took place in May, with all PCOM alumni having the opportunity to submit an electronic ballot to cast their vote.
Michael Becker, DO ‘87, ended his tenure as PCOM Alumni Association president at the spring board meeting, turning the reins over to new president Shanda Lucas O’Dennis, MS/ODL ‘09. Ms. O’Dennis will serve in this position for two years, and Dr. Becker will provide guidance as the immediate past president.
